The Interview

It’s closer to the deadline now so it’s crunch time to get the rest of my interviews in place to make sense of the story. I’ve conducted a few of them that went really well but have a few more left to do.

Since this topic of school violence is a sensitive one, the process of getting a potential interviewee to reply to me is very difficult and takes a lot of persuasion. At times I’ve found it difficult to even find people to contact as people prefer to be private about such situations.

Having a blog dedicated to raising awareness about school violence and a social media page, helps me connect with people from all parts of the country to talk about their experience with the subject.

So over the next few, I should be able to get a hold of the interviewees I want with the help of twitter and people who realise how important it is to talk about their issues and raise awareness but at the same time, knowing nature of the topic, I need to take into careful consideration the safety of my interviewees and myself.
